This is the middle act of last night’s Swedish finals for the Eurovision. Last year’s winner Måns Zelmerlöw sings Heroes together with real kids. This is very appropriate, since the original featured simple drawings which somehow resembled boys – watch it here.
We are the heroes of our time, they sing. It’s a strong text which can be applied to many people and situations. This number wanted to highlight bullied kids. They are indeed heroes. But I can think of other heroes as well – heroes of our time. Namely you. It’s impossible not to get moved when seeing a man and a boy singing about being the heroes of our times. Enjoy.
(Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that the winner yesterday was Frans, a young man of 17. Watch his song here. It’s an ok song which will stand pretty good chances – it could even win – but there’s nothing epic about it. Frans is charming though.)
